About the event

Take a gentle walk on the wild side and see what natural delights Spurn has to offer on this introductory session to bird watching designed for the next generation of ornithologists (18 - 30).

Whether you’re a seasoned birder or a beginner garden-bird spotter, there’s something for everyone at spurn - our diverse array of unique habitats and hides along the reserve coupled with our knowledgeable guides guarantee some interesting sights throughout the event, making ‘Birds & Gen Zs’ the perfect way to kickstart your own bird watching adventure!

This event will take place in view of a variety of habitats and does include uneven terrain and stairs, please dress appropriately for the weather, wear appropriate footwear (Eg. Walking boots) and bring snacks and drinks if needed

No binoculars? No problem! We have some you can borrow for the tour.

What to bring/wear

Our events mostly take place outside so brace yourself for the Yorkshire weather! We'd recommend sturdy and waterproof footwear or wellies, and lots of layers! If it's a hot day, remember a hat and suncream!

Toilets and catering

There are toilets (including an accessible toilet) and a café at the Spurn Discovery Centre, serving both hot and cold food.

Joining us on the day

Our events meet at Spurn Discovery Centre, where there is a cafe and toilets. Please arrive with plenty of time before your event!

Please meet at our picnic benches in the Spurn Discovery Centre's outdoor auditorium.

Parking information

There is a £5 parking charge, which helps us to maintain the centre and look after the reserve. There is free parking for Wildlife Trust members who display their up-to-date membership card on their car dashboard.
