Privacy Policy

The privacy and security of your personal information is extremely important to us at Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, and we take our duty to processing the personal data of our supporters and the public who engage with us very seriously. Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how and why we use personal information, what controls we have in place to keep our data secure, and what your rights are and how to exercise them so that you can be confident about giving us your details.

As part of our commitment to protecting your privacy, we regularly review this policy to reflect any changes to the way we collect, store or use your information.

Update: May 2025

What's changing?

  • Clearer explanations about the data we collect and how it's used.
  • Additional information about how we collaborate with trusted partners to gain insights from publicly available information (e.g., company websites) to identify potential new donors.
  • We may now use wealth screening to help us identify potential donors. You can opt out of this additional activity at any time.

Why are we making these changes?

These changes will help us to:

  • Personalise your experience, making it easier to send you what you want, when you want it.
  • Improve our fundraising by becoming more efficient and targeted in our efforts when we communicate with our supporters.
  • Ensure that we are always compliant with data protection and fundraising regulations.
