Mindful Photography
About the event
Our session is led by local landscape photographer Fiona Caley (Instagram @Fionacaley), you will learn and develop your photography, whilst exploring the textures and shoreline of the Spurn peninsula.
Spurn Point is located on the north bank of the Humber Estuary. On the west side is the North Sea and on the easterly side is the Humber Estuary.
This photography retreat offers an opportunity to slow down in an environment with wide open views, the sounds of the sea, in an ever-changing coastline.
American philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson is quoted as saying “Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience."
You may be a beginner or a more experienced photographer, all we ask is that you bring a willingness to be open to nature, short periods of silence, being outdoors and a willingness to learn. You will go home refreshed with a series of meaningful and meditative photographs, and we hope a clear desire to spend more time in nature.
To take part you will need a camera or a mobile phone. You are also advised to wear appropriate footwear and clothing, as this will be an outdoor walking retreat.
There will be an opportunity for selected mindful photographs from the day to be shared on our social media page.
Due to the length of the event we suggest you bring plenty of food and drink. Our cafe opens at 10am and serves cold sandwiches which can be purchased to take away. The event will start promptly at 10:30am.
