Event details
About the event
Join us at Potteric Carr nature reserve as part of Yorkshire Fungi Fest for a special ‘In Conversation’ book talk with Sally Coulthard, celebrating her new book, Fungi Lore.
Sally will be interviewed about the fascinating world of fungi, exploring the stories, folklore, history and curious traditions that have grown up around these remarkable organisms. There will be plenty of opportunity to discover more about the fungi we encounter around us, with a Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Ecologist joining the conversation to bring a scientific perspective and help fill in the gaps — from the folklore and cultural stories to what we now understand about fungi and their vital role in our ecosystems.
The event will include an engaging interview and talk, followed by a Q&A, giving you the chance to put your own fungi questions to Sally and our ecologist.
Taking place in the late afternoon, this is the perfect way finish off Yorkshire Fungi Festival. Wine (or soft drink alternative) and canapé's will be served whilst you enjoy an entertaining and thought-provoking conversation about one of the natural world's most mysterious and fascinating kingdoms.
Copies of Fungi Lore will be available from the gift shop or you may bring your own if you would like them signed.
Come for the fungi, stay for the stories!
