About the event
Join Professor Alastair Fitter for a tour around Askham Bog nature reserve to discover some of the iconic flora, including the amazing giant royal ferns, on this ecologically important site. Once called a ‘cathedral of nature conservation’ by Sir David Attenborough, you'll also delve into Askham Bog’s complex history from the end of the last ice age, through medieval peat cutting, to its modern recovery under the management of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.
