Position details
Commitment:
WeekdaysIn 2026, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust will turn 80.
Much of our organisational history, including photographs, documents and more, is kept in the Borthwick Archives at the University of York. As part of our 80th anniversary celebration, we want to delve into our history and uncover stories from our past to help us draw inspiration for the future.
Volunteering both from home and from the University Archives, you will:
- Read through the catalogue of the archive to gain a broad scope of what materials are available.
- Identify key moments in the history of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, where the Trust has either led on or been involved in a moment of regional or national significance in conservation.
- Identify and copy for external use photographs, documents, quotes and press clippings that illustrate the Trust’s significance to local conservation.
- Identify opportunities for ‘before and after’ images to show the enduring impact of the Trust.
- Further expand our timeline of key points in – and contributors to - the Trust’s history.
- Explore and suggest possible promotional uses for archive material, including - but not limited - to photographs, magazines and bio-recordings.
