We're easily accessible, just a stone's throw away from the A1 and Doncaster city centre. Hosting your meeting or event at Potteric Carr will provide you and your group with a unique, different experience.

Our options

Visitor centre meeting room

Our visitor centre meeting room is within our main visitor centre building. With easy access to our café and a number of table layouts possible, this is a great space to host a meeting or a small workshop.

Accommodates: up to 20 people

Low Ellers education centre


Our education centre is a gentle 10 minute walk (via an accessible walkway) from our visitor centre and car park and has both a larger room and a smaller room, both available to hire. It's perfect for hosting bigger events or conferences.

The Alder room accommodates up to 35 people, while the whole building including outdoor space can be booked for up to 60 people, subject to school terms. Booking the whole building may be subject to extra charges, please give us a ring to discuss your needs and check availibility.

Outdoor meeting space including picnic tables.
Outdoor pop-up marquee on request (charge applies)

Costs

Per room:

Full day (8.30am - 5pm): £150+VAT

Half day (4 hours morning or afternoon): £75+VAT

Evening bookings (5pm-9pm): £75+VAT

Prices for exclusive use of the Low Ellers education centre available on request.

Discounts are available for community groups and voluntary organisations - please contact us.

Corporate members of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust benefit from a free first booking.

Catering

We have a full cafe menu available at our visitor centre and our café is open during the day.

We also offer buffets from £5 per head, and tea/coffee from £2 per head. Please get in touch for further details - contact details are below. All our buffet options come with a vegetarian option as standard and vegan/allergies are catered for on request.

Useful to know

Opening times

Potteric Carr visitor centre is open to the public from 9am til 5pm, seven days a week. Times outside of 9am-5pm can be agreed in advance, although extra charges may apply.

Accessibility

Both sites are fully accessible to wheelchair users (call for more information on access requirements). All toilets are all non-gender specific in the main visitor centre.

Parking

There is free parking available at the visitor centre. 

Getting here

Our full address is Potteric Carr Nature Reserve, Mallard Way, Doncaster, DN4 8DB.

From Doncaster train station (by taxi 10 minutes / by bus 11mins + 5min walk) - take the Park and Ride Bus No.70 (every 15 minutes) to B&Q / OneCall on White Rose Way – we are a short 5 minute walk from the bus stop.

From A1/M18 junction by car (3 minutes) – Take M18 East for one junction (Junc 3). then take first exit onto A6182 White Rose Way then first right onto Mallard Way – following brown signs. For Sat Nav use DN4 8DB.

From Doncaster-Sheffield Airport (by taxi 14 mins / by bus 25 minutes + 5 minute walk) take the X6 to Great Yorkshire Way and transfer to Bus 205 for one stop to B&Q/One Call on White Rose Way. We are a 5minute walk from the bus stop.
