About the event

On this guided session experts Yannah and Andy from Yorkshire Naturalist Union will help you explore the fascinating world of fungi. Learn about the underground world and how it makes the mushrooms you see. They will show you how to tell the difference between the species. You might see anything from a milkcap to a bracket to a brittlegill. Who knows what you will discover!

The wooden boardwalk is accessible for wheelchair users and buggies. It is a short loop, with a sloped track from the carpark, which can be accessed at all times . Wellies are required for the rest of the site which is boggy with deep pools and ditches.

What to bring

This event takes place outside so brace yourself for the Yorkshire weather! Sturdy footwear is always recommended. The walk will mainly be on the boardwalk but in damp conditions wellies and waterproof clothing is also recommended.

If you have any id books please bring them with you.

Toilets and catering

There are no facilities on site but you can find accessible toilets at Askham Bar park and ride.

You're welcome to bring a drink and/or snack with you but please take your litter home with you.
