About the event

Dive deep into the bog's facinating 15,000 years history! Our expert guide will lead you around the newly restored boardwalk idenifying the hidden secrets and rare species which call the bog their home.

The wooden boardwalk is accessible for wheelchair users and buggies. It is a short loop, with a sloped track from the carpark, which can be accessed at all times. Wellies are required for the rest of the site which is boggy with deep pools and ditches.

What to bring

This event takes place outside so brace yourself for the Yorkshire weather! Sturdy footwear is always recommended.

Toilets and catering

There are no facilities on site but you can find accessible toilets at Askham Bar park and ride.

You're welcome to bring a drink and/or snack with you but please take your litter home with you.
