Nature’s Way: a nature and wellbeing project.

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, Street Space, Get Out More and Better Place are collaborating to deliver an innovative new project called Nature’s Way. Funded by Bradford Council, Nature’s Way supports inner-city communities to transform their neighbourhoods into thriving havens for people and wildlife.

Rooted in local collaboration and participatory practice, Nature’s Way builds long-term relationships with residents, community leaders, grassroots groups and local institutions, listening to their needs, supporting their ambitions, and creating pathways for people to come together to reclaim, reimagine and restore their local environments by co-creating treasured natural spaces that support people’s wellbeing.

We believe all new green spaces should be co-created with local people, for the benefit of their whole community and we’ll be focussing on Keighley Central, Keighley West, Bowling & Barkerend, Bradford Moor, City, Eccleshill, Great Horton, Heaton and Tong wards in 2026/27.  We are also interested in spaces in Manningham and Bolton and Undercliffe for future years.

Nature’s Way provides Bradford residents with the training, resources, materials, equipment and plants to transform snickets, verges, parks, playing fields and grey spaces into new green oasis where people can relax, play and connect with each other and with nature.

Do you know of a neglected or underused space in one of these Bradford ward areas with the potential to be loved?
