About the event

From its changing landscape to its rich local heritage, discover how Moorlands Nature Reserve has evolved over the years, while enjoying a leisurely walk through this historic woodland.

This guided walk will begin at the reserve entrance on Moor Lane and last approximately 2 hours.

Dogs

Assistance dogs only

Dogs are not permitted on this reserve, except for service dogs. Please always keep service dogs on a lead and ensure they are wearing their service vest or uniform.

Mobility

From the reserve entrance a single footpath accesses the reserve and then splits to form a 1km circuit.

There is a pedestrian kissing gate at the reserve entrance which is accessible to some wheelchairs. There are no other barriers or steps along the reserve access path.

The surface is all compacted earth. There are numerous benches on the reserve and access is over flat and mostly even terrain. Some areas can become waterlogged in winter.

What to bring

This event takes place outside so brace yourself for the Yorkshire weather! Sturdy footwear is always recommended.

Suitable layers, waterproof clothing and insect repellent are also recommended. You may wish to bring binoculars but this is not essential.

There is limited roadside parking at the reserve in the narrow layby near the entrance gate. Please be considerate of residents and others when parking.
