Members' Wild Ramble: Market Weighton to Rifle Butts Quarry & Kiplingcotes
Event details
About the event
Discover more about Rifle Butts Quarry and Kiplingcotes Chalk Pit on this Yorkshire Wildlife Trust members' event. You'll find out what we've been working on at these two grassland reserves and the wildlife that frequents them.
The day will start at Market Weighton Community Hall with a talk by the reserves team who look after these beautiful reserves. You'll find out about what we do behind-the-scenes to manage them as well as the data that we use, the surveys that we carry out and how we monitor the impact on the reserve. Refreshments of tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
Once you've learnt more about the reserves, it's time to get rambling! Led by a Yorkshire Wildlife Trust staff member, you'll go on a guided ramble up to and onto the reserves to discover more about the wildlife on-site and in the surrounding area.
This walk will be six miles in total, and will include unsurfaced tracks, hills and uneven ground. We regret that there are no alternative transport provisions available.
