About the event

In 2026, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust celebrates 80 years of protecting and restoring wildlife across Yorkshire. This special anniversary exhibition will bring our remarkable story to life – from the visionary founders who secured Askham Bog in 1946, to the passionate staff, volunteers, members and supporters driving nature’s recovery today.

Through inspiring stories, historic objects, archive materials and personal memories, visitors will discover how Yorkshire Wildlife Trust has helped shape conservation in the county for eight decades. The exhibition will showcase achievements and the protection of treasured wild spaces, while highlighting the influential people whose dedication has made a lasting difference to Yorkshire’s wildlife.

Exploring themes of collaboration, community, innovation and Yorkshire spirit, the exhibition will celebrate our past, reflect on our present, and look ahead to a wilder future. As a touring exhibition, it will connect with communities across Yorkshire, inspiring both long-standing nature lovers and new audiences to be part of the journey.

Parking information

There is a small amount of free parking on Spring Gardens Lane and within the museum car park. Please note this allows for 3 hours parking, with no return within 2 hours. These parking places are managed by Bradford Council Parking Services.

Approximately 12-25 minutes walk from the railway station, 6-15 minutes walk from the bus station. Buses (for example Bradford to Skipton) pass the lower main gates. The 903 bus service operates from Keighley Bus Station and serves Cliffe Castle on a limited basis.
