About the event
Discover Spurn on our walking tours
There’s nowhere quite like Spurn, where the constantly changing currents of the mighty River Humber meet the turbulent waters of the North Sea. But how much do you really know about this legendary place?
This tour features epic tales of a town that ruled the waves but was also destroyed by them; shipwrecks and heroic rescues at sea; zipping along an old railway at 60mph on home-made land ships… and much more!
Join our guides for a journey through time, stopping off to explore:
- the birth of Spurn 10,000 years ago
- Spurn’s role in the Viking invasion
- stories of lighthouses, lifeboats and pubs down at the Point
- how Victorian tourists flocked to Spurn in huge numbers
- the challenges of caring for Spurn and its wildlife in the modern day.
With our Introductory offer, now’s the time to grab a bargain: £10 for adults and £6 for children (please note the tours aren’t suitable for young children).
