Volunteering at Stirley Community Farm
There are numerous volunteering opportunites, in which people can, and do, get involved in the day-to-day operations from tending to vegetable gardens to supervising education sessions. There are also more formalised voluntary traineeships available on the farm.

Education at Stirley Community Farm
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust runs a formal education programme at the farm for school children, with sessions designed to meet requirements as set by the national cirriculum. In the past the farm has also hosted trainee apprenticeships for young adults and will look to do this again in the future.

Community Groups
Stirley Community Farm established thanks to the help and support of several community group. In particular local group Growing Newsome were instrumental in the early days and still help out today. We are also actively involved with the local Scouts groups and other community groups.
Local Businesses
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is hugely grateful to a number of local businesses who have provided support, both in time and resources. Manufacturer Cummins, which has a factory in Huddersfield, have been particularly generous, providing staff and finances to help put a roof on the farmhouse and signage up around the farm.
