A new home for otters in the Dearne Valley

Several of our trainees joined forces with students from Leeds University yesterday to create a new otter home next to the river Dearne.

After finding the perfect site to install it, we set to work at constructing the otter holt. Once it was in place we covered it with surrounding debris to camouflage it and make it more insulated. With records of otters in the area, we hope that this new otter home will be in use in the near future - fingers crossed!
