Practical Workdays

Practical workdays take place from 10:00am until 4:00pm unless otherwise stated. You do not have to attend the whole day but are welcome to stay as long as you are able. please wear suitable outdoor clothing and dress for the weather i.e. sturdy boots, waterproofs, and sun cream. Bring a drink and packed lunch.

Jeffry Bog Help us cut back the hedges on this grassland reserve on the banks of the River Derwent. Jan: 27th  See map Six miles south west of Malton, one mile north of Westow on the southern bank of the
River Derwent.
Moorlands Jobs will include path, bench and building maintenance, as required. Apr: 7th, 21st See map 5 miles north of York, near the village of Skelton. Turn right off the A19 into Skelton and drive through the village. Continue for another two miles and the reserve is on the left.
Sherburn Willows This reserve contains wildflwoer-rich Magnesian Limestone grassland, fenland and a former willow coppice. Come and help us with a variety of habitat management tasks.

Allerthorpe Common

Join us to maintain the Trust’s area of lowland heath, as well as working on the Forestry Commission land where they are working to improve the common for wildlife.
