Viva Veolia

The Viva Veolia Project is part of a national drive to encourage young people, between 16 and 25, to get involved in volunteer work. It is co-funded by the Veolia Environmental Trust and V a government youth organisation and is over seen by the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts.

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is just one of 8 Trusts chosen to run this project. The project here is run by Jo Meays, our Education and Youth Volunteering Officer at Potteric Carr Nature Reserve. Jo holds youth workdays every week, usually on aTuesday and Friday. Workdays involve completing practical conservation tasks as well as project work and construction.

As part of this project the Trust is offering a certificate in the form of the John Muir Award, giving young people a portfolio to show future college placements or employers. Anyone within the age of 16 – 25 years old, individuals or groups, who are interested in volunteer work can contact Jo at Potteric Carr Nature Reserve on (01302) 570077 or via email.
