- Update of our database - We are currently updating our volunteers' database and removing redundant data. All volunteers who are currently on the database will shortly be receiving a form asking them to confirm that they are still volunteering with us. It is important that all active volunteers complete and return this form, otherwise you will be removed from the database and will no longer receive our mailings.
- Calling all volunteers! - We are trying to keep a record of all volunteer email addresses. Could all volunteers who have an email address please forward your addresses on to Claire Jackson.This will allow us to occasionally send you updates and information via email allowing us to save paper.
- Volunteering Conference - On March 18th Soo Prentice attended a volunteer conference hosted by Natural England to discuss the future of environmental volunteering. To find out more view the conference report.
- First Aid and Health & Safety Training - As regular volunteers working on our Reserves we feel it is very important to give you the opportunity to prepare yourselves for every eventuality. We would like to offer you the chance to take part on our FREE Health and Safety training day on Sunday 7th September, 9:30am - 3:00pm, here at the Wildlife Trust Office in York. This course will give you new skills that will enable you to support your fellow volunteers and the Reserve staff. If you are interested please call the office to book as places are limited.
- Training - There are a number of training opportunities coming up over the summer months, including wildflower, summer tree and butterfly identification, wildlife photography, bird surveying, safety on site, drystone walling, and bird ringing.
