Lowland Adders

The Lowland Adder's project has now drawn to a close but in time we are hoping to raise more funding to continue with hbaitat creation for this special creature.

With your hard work over the past year we have created hibernacula's and suitable habitat for adders on three of our reserves; Caley Heath, Strensal Common and Allerthorpe Common.  We have also worked on Hatfield Moor, a Natural England site, where 19 scrapes have been created which the adders are already making good use of!

Don't forget that practical workdays still continue on our reserves mentioned above, they not only help to conserve adder habitat but your work also benefits other wildlife species.

Adder Spotting

You have all been very busy and are kindly letting me know when you spot our slithery friends. To make your life (and mine!) a little bit easier I have added a sightings form to complete online. Fill it out in as much detail as you can as it will make things easier when we come to map your findings. I look forward to hearing from you!

You will need Microsoft Office Excel.
