Jubilee Club

In May 1996 the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust celebrated its Golden Jubilee. The Club is a means of generating financial support for Trust projects which may otherwise not be funded, while also providing Club members with the opportunity of winning a number of cash prizes. The projects are chosen, in turn, by the Conservation, Education and Nature Reserves Departments. Although launched solely to support the work of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, membership of the Jubilee Club is open to members of the public as well as members of the Trust.

How it works

Membership of the Club costs £15.00 per year and entitles members to entry in all of the three draws made each year. Each of the Trust's departments receiving a donation in turn. Draws are made in February, June and October each year, usually at a Trust event. £5.00 of each membership subscription is placed towards each draw. After deducting any expenses half the money is placed towards the donation to the Trust, and half to the prize fund, subject to the minimum prize of £20.00 being fulfilled.

Prizes

The number and value of the main prizes varies according to the number of members eligible to enter. Membership numbers have stabilised around 170 in recent years when the top prize has varied between £165 and £180, second prizes of £110 or £120 and third prizes of £55 or £60. The reminder of the prize fund is allocated to a number of £20 consolation prizes. In the event of the prize fund being less than £300 for any draw the prizes will be awarded on a 3:2:1 basis. The Trustees reserve the right to apply to the Trust's Council to change the prize structure.
