Wildlife Watch - all about Wildlife Watch for children

There are around 108,000 Wildlife Watch members and hundreds of local groups which get stuck into excellent environmental activities. Taking part in Watch is an exciting way to explore your surroundings and get closer to the wildlife you share it with.

Yorkshire Wildlife Watch Groups.

There are lots of groups based all over Yorkshire and some of the activities you could possibly take part in include barn owl surveys, pond dipping, badger watching, bat detecting and wildlife gardening. Plus Wildlife Watch members receive loads of exciting wildlife goodies throughout the year.

The membership pack! - You will recieve:

  • A membership card and badge
  • 'Ready for Action' guide to wildlife watching
  • Watchword (three times a year), our lively magazine packed with features on UK wildlife and the environment news, events and competitions.
  • Wildlife Extra (three times a year), which focuses on specific wildlife topics opens into a poster; on the back are loads of activity ideas and cartoons.

Members can even email the Wildlife Trusts based at Newark to help out on the Watchword editorial team.

How to become a member.

You automatically become a member of Wildlife Watch if your parents, grandparents or guardians are members of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. Just jog their memories to add you and ask them to contact your local group on your behalf!
