Fishponds Wood is fed by natural springs, which creates boggy areas throughout the site where three large ponds were once established. The area has been replanted in many areas with trees and shrubs, and grass has been mown to improve access. Long grassy areas have been left to provide cover for wildlife.

Furry Little Animals! Have you ever seen mice, voles or shrews in the wild? If not then this is your big chance! We’ll be setting live traps to get a closer look at what furry little animals live in the area. You’ll also learn all about these little mammals, what they eat, where they live, and how long they live by taking part in various mammal related activities.
