Workday at Askham Bog - Credit Laura Popely
From magnifying glasses to mowers, fence posts to vaccines, our work is dependant on having the funds to buy necessary equipment.
Your donations and support really do make a difference to Yorkshire's wildlife and wild spaces. We are able to care for over 80 nature reserves, inspire thousands of children and promote awareness of our marine life.
Your money goes towards making our vision of Yorkshire's Living Landscapes and Living Seas a reality, but it all costs money!
By donating or becoming a member today, you can help us achieve this vision.
Where does your money go?
£15 allows us to vaccinate 20 Hebridean sheep which will graze our grassland reserves.
£20 will buy a pair of hand loppers, essential for scrub bashing at many of our reserves.
£50 buys 10 saplings, allowing us to plant up a future wet woodland, home to species such as marsh tit, lesser spotted woodpecker and otters.
£250 will buy 55 metres of fencing, allowing us to graze a meadow for the benefit of species such as bee orchids, lady's bedstraw and bird's foot trefoil.
£500 will buy 12.5 metres of board walk, allowing access to all on a wetland reserve.
£1000 is needed to hire a digger for four days of wetland restoration, creating scrapes which benefit a variety of waders.
