Running Wild

Running Wild at Moorlands - Credit Vicky Harland

Please note this project has now come to an end.

Running Wild is all about getting out into the environment and having  lots of fun!

The Running Wild project provides safe, constructive and fun outdoor activities for young people aged 8-18 living in York. Young people who take part can come along and get involved with practical projects to improve their local green site, play Marine activities at Rawcliffeenvironmental games, produce outdoor artwork, take part in practical conservation tasks and much much more.

The Running Wild club at Rawcliffe Country Park currently meets on a Wednesday evening at 4:00pm - 5.30pm. Due to a lack of funding at present there is a charge of £4 per child per session, for which booking is essential.

Running Wild is currently working with several schools across the city delivering high-quality outdoor education programmes. If you are a teacher or a leader of a youth group or scout troop then get in touch. We can provide one off, or a series of, tailor made sessions for groups on evenings, weekends and in school holidays and alternative learning sessions within school hours. Again due to a lack of funding there is currently a charge for such sessions.
