The Wildlife Trusts nationally are currently undertaking three major campaigns, Living Landscapes, Living Seas and Wildlife Gardening.
A Living Landscape is the aspirational end-point where the UK’s environment, society and economy co-exist for the benefit of wildlife and people. It comprises a series of Living Landscapes, linked together at local, regional and country level. This presents a holistic approach, to re-connect our urban and rural areas, freshwater and coast. Beyond the coast, the connections continue to create Living Seas.

In Britain, natural habitats are being lost at an alarming rate due to changing agricultural practices and building development. With five million gardens covering an area of around one million hectares, gardens are assuming an increasingly important role as havens for wildlife.
Why not gather some suggestions on the basic ideas on how to attract more wildlife to your own garden. You don’t have to ‘sacrifice’ your garden to nature – just share more of it with wildlife. You can choose to do as little or as much as you like. It will all help our wildlife and there are benefits for you too – saving money and effort and, best of all, enjoying wildlife on your doorstep!
