Discovery Zone

Discovery Zone at Potteric Carr started in October 2014 and will run until March 2016. So get involved now!

Discovery Zone

Discovery Zone, a component of The Connect Project, has been created to aid public engagement and improve access to Potteric Carr with the Humberhead Levels Nature Improvement Area (NIA), by building an area which can be use for exploration and learning. The current Discovery Trail is a path that is bumpy and hard to access via wheelchair and with pushchairs.

Funded generously by Veolia Environmental Trust, this area will have a hardcore path installed, new interpretation, 2 new bird screens, seating, bug hotels, a new foot bridge, and an outdoor classroom.

We will also run free training for community group leaders on surveying the discovery zone including bats, small mammals etc.

Our official open day for the project is on the 24th March 2016.
