Acomb Wood - Local Nature Reserve

Acomb Wood in Woodthorpe is around 3 acres in size. It is believed to be an ancient woodland, home to a large variety of birds including greater spotted woodpeckers, tawny owls and tree creepers. The wood is just teeming with wildlife so come along and see what birds and animals you can find!

Halloween Party
Come along for a Halloween party in the woods. We will be making lanterns, hunting for bat facts and apple bobbing. There will be prizes for everyone that comes in fancy dress.

Saturday 29th November

Shelter Building
Have you ever fancied building a shelter in the woods? Well here is you chance!! We will be making shelters and learning some survival skills in case you ever find yourself stranded in the woods.

Saturday 20th December

1.30pm - 3.00pm

Festive Fun
"It's Christmas time..." which means it's time to wrap up warm and come along to make a willow wreath to hang on your front door or willow stars to hang on your tree. There'll be Christmassy run-around games to play as well to make sure we keep warm!!
