Spurn communities along the sand

Spurn Communities Along The Sand

The Spurn 'Communities Along The Sand' project has been operating at Spurn since 2014. Then restoration of Spurn Lighthouse has been the main aim; in addition to developing an engagement programme for new audiences and volunteers at Spurn alongside the creation of new interpretation and self-guided trails. One of the main purppses of the project is to research and archive historical information about Spurn. As the project matures and moves into the self-sustaining phase we are looking to develop the site access and interpretation in conjunction with the new visitor centre and wider Spurn Gateway project.

Key Aims

We will increase the variety and numbers of people engaging with the heritage of Spurn through a programme of events, open days and workshops to better inform, engage and involve.

How you can help

You can help by registering as a volunteer and assisting with patrolling the reserve, welcoming visitors and running the lighthouse. Come along on task days to help with the managememt of the reserve and access. Visit our volunteering page to search for opportunities.
