    Marsh Hide

Single dunnock, great spotted woodpecker (female), jay and nuthatch

    Lake Hide

Single coal tit, grey heron and sparrowhawk (this female flew very close to the hide)

   Other locations

Single great spotted woodpecker heard drumming to the left of the marsh hide
Twenty goldfinch (approximately) seen feeding on the ground on the eastern side of the reserve
A fox seen on the path near to the marsh hide
Also a report today from a visitor who, on 30th January, saw 2 treecreepers displaying by the path at the south eastern end of the reserve

24th January
    Marsh hide

Single kingfisher and a mix of several tits and finches

All eight birds coexisting peacefully

   Other locations

At the entrance one red kite overhead
Elsewhere several goldcrest and a flock of siskin. A lesser spotted woodpecker was heard but not seen
Also a visitor (PJ) reported four bullfinch, three long tailed tit, five redpoll and two treecreeper

Five wood pigeon, jay and magpie in the woods beyond the entrance and red kite perched (and whistling) in tree overlooking Cook's field

A volunteer [BT] saw single heron, sparrowhawk, treecreeper, marsh tit, mandarin, two jay and four brown rat on the reserve
