Together we can make a difference.

By asking people who care about wildlife and about their wild places to contact their local MP to ask them to support an Environment Act that gives nature a better deal we will be giving nature a fighting chance. To do this we need to reach more people and that’s where your role as a Wildlife Advocate comes in. You will be assisting the Advocacy and Campaigns Team to raise the profile of the Wilder Britain, Wilder Yorkshire campaign within your local community.
As a Wildlife Advocate you will identify local news channels within your community (such as the local newspaper, Parish Magazine) and use materials we provide to help spread the news that now is the time we should all act.
You’ll need to be confident and willing to approach people, to share your passion and our shared vision of getting a better deal for our environment and wildlife.
More details about the specific tasks you will be involved in can be found in the role description at the bottom of this page.
The role is for 6 months initially and home-based so you’ll need to be able to work unsupervised. We're looking for volunteers to be based all across Yorkshire. Occasionally you may be expected to attend meetings at our York office from time to time where the Advocacy and Campaigns Team is based.
All applicants will be expected to attend a briefing session on February 21st 10 – 12.00pm held at our York Office, 1, St George’s Place , York, YO24 1GN to learn more about the campaign and how to use the materials we provide you with. If you’re unable to travel to York but would still like to be involved please get in touch.
To apply for this role please use the application form at the bottom of the page and return the completed form to firstname.lastname@example.org by Tuesday 19th February 2019.
Existing volunteers do not need to complete an application form but make enquiries to the email address above.
