Pre-visits

We do require all teachers or community group leaders wishing to book a school or group visit to arrange a pre-visit to ensure your session will meet your objectives and also to confirm health and safety requirements.

Risk assessments

A helping hand...We are fully aware of the pressures faced by teachers and youth leaders when planning an outdoor learning experience. All our sites and each activity are risk assessed by competent staff members.  A downloadable Health and Safety statement is available below to help you submit your paperwork. All other risk assessments can be made available on request. Please contact the individual centre of interest.

Health and Safety Statement

Access for all

We make every effort to ensure our education centres and classroom facilities are accessible to all. All of our activities can be adapted to suit children and young people of all ages and requirements. Please inform us if any of your pupils or young people have specific arrangements or requirements.

Health and safety

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust staff and volunteers are fully trained to run education activities and first aid training. Comprehensive task and site risk assessments are carried out for all activities undertaken. Please note: teachers, youth leaders and accompanying adults are responsible for the safety and discipline of their group at all times. Please see the risk assessment section above for a copy of our Health and Safety Statement.
