Team at Stirley

Ian and Kim

The Stirley Farm team currently includes Ian Smart and Kim Warren.

Ian Smart is the Farm Enterprise Manager. He has 8 years of experience in conservation farming working on Dorset Wildlife Trusts' Kingcombe Meadows Farm. Having just sourced the first of our Beef Shorthorn herd, he is busy working with the trainees and volunteers to get the farm buildings and boundaries ready for the cattle.

Kim Warren is the Food Education Officer who organises learning activities for people of all ages both at the farm and in the neighbouring community. Kim has developed the vegetable training beds with the help of the Future Jobs Fund team, volunteers and groups from the local community.

Skills For Climate Change

Toby Needs joined the team in March as the Skills For Climate Change Supervisor. Toby leads teams of trainees in practical farm and conservation tasks to gain new skills and qualifcations.

Local Food and Conservation Trainees

The project also has two full time trainees who assist Kim and Ian on the project.  Trainees are involved in all aspects of the project including farming, education, food growing and coordinating volunteers. You can find out more about traineeships with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust in the Volunteering Section.
