Mirfield, West Yorkshire - With the Calder in partial flood I saw a single otter which was shadowed by a kingfisher on a small brook.

YWT Moorlands NR - Candlesnuff fungus (Xylaria hypoxylon) and olive oysterling (Panellus serotinus) seen at Moorlands during the Volunteer Work day last week on Wed 7 Nov - both first sightings for the nature reserve!

YWT Wheldrake Ings NR - a marsh harrier was spotted over the nature reserve.

YWT Staveley NR - waxwings seen around the nature reserve during an all staff meeting for Yorkshire Wildlife Trust's employees - a real treat!
