22nd March
YWT Flamborough Cliffs: What a beautiful day at North Landing, Flamborough! The sun is out in force and the seabirds are building up in numbers. Sat on the sea and cliffs were guillemot, razorbill, puffin, kittiwake and fulmar, while offshore a group of well over 100 gannets were feeding in their own spectacular way, plunging in to the sea 10 at a time! Joining the Living Seas team on the shore were 62 pupils from Spring Cottage Primary School in Hull. All took part in a Seashore Safari and we were able to introduce them to whelks, winkles, limpets, crabs, anemones, scales worms, shannys and a multitude of different seaweeds before they headed off to Hornsea to continue their field trip.
