10th December - pond and lake almost completely frozen over
   Marsh hide

Single blackbird (male), magpie and woodpigeon

2 Moorhen (including one juvenile)

Single coal tit, dunnock, jay and nuthatch

3rd December – Guide-in-the-hide session (CRH, DAJ, JMcA, PM, PJ)
   Marsh hide

Single black headed gull (male), kingfisher (male), sparrowhawk (male) and treecreeper

4 Great spotted woodpecker (three different males; one female)

18 Magpie (came to roost at 16.00)
7 Mallard (four male; three female)

Also one bank vole and one rabbit plus squirrels!!

   Lake hide

Single grey heron (landed in a tree on the far side of the lake late in the afternoon - roosting?), kingfisher (several fly-throughs plus a male fishing - caught three small fish) and sparrowhawk (male landed briefly in willows near the feeders at dusk)

A reliable visitor [Fran] saw a lesser spotted woodpecker on the ground near (or in?) Dohertys field

2nd December

A volunteer [DAJ] reported great spotted woodpecker (male), two pairs of mallard and ten mandarin (six male; four female) at the marsh hide; grey heron, kingfisher (male), sparrowhawk (half-hearted attack on the kingfisher), twelve pairs of mallard and six of teal at the lake hide; and a grey wagtail in the stream below the lake hide
