Tomorrow’s Natural Leaders application page

Are you looking to grow your career in conservation? Are you 16 to 24 years old? Would you like to be part of a major new programme to get young people active for wildlife and the environment?

*Update August 2017: Current vacancies available in Hull. Apply now*

We are looking for passionate and motivated young people across Yorkshire to join the Tomorrow’s Natural Leaders programme that will help you do just that. Activities will include reserves management, habitat restoration, biodiversity monitoring, events management, campaigning, outreach and education.

The Tomorrow's Natural Leaders scheme will match skills and experience with local employers in the green sector and help mitigate unemployment and labour supply challenges. If you are interested please contact Joe Wyatt (South and West) or Paul Thompson (North and East) for further information or call the Trust on 01904 659570.

Placements are based at five locations across Yorkshire including Pickering, Flamborough, Hull, Doncaster and Huddersfield.

The Tomorrow’s Natural Leaders project offers young adults (16 to 24 years old) a 12 month placement with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust involving regular practical conservation activities and formal qualifications, supporting campaigns and developing and running your own environmental project in your local area. You will help to shape and steer activity and the direction of your placement from the start and be part of an exciting and ambitious environmental youth empowerment movement. Read the job description for more details of the requirements below.

To apply please complete the application form below. We want to be as flexible and inclusive as possible with our recruitment and so are happy to accept applications in alternative formats such as videos or voice recordings that answer these key questions:

  • Your name and contact details
  • Which location/s are you applying for?
  • What are you doing now?
  • Current qualification or training
  • Experience
  • Hobbies and interest
  • Why do you want to be one of Tomorrow’s Nature Leaders?

Applications for the Tomorrows Natural Leaders role may be accepted throughout the year as we are always looking for enthusiastic and passionate people to take on the challenge of becoming the Yorkshire Wildlife Trusts future conservationists. If you feel you fit the bill please forward your application to Joe Wyatt (South & West Yorkshire) or Paul Thompson (North & East Yorkshire).

The 12 month placements run from September to August but earlier/later starts will be considered for the right candidate.
